LITTLE ROCKERS INSTRUCTOR WANTED

The Buttery Music School seeks a dedicated, energetic legend with a passion for music and experience with kids aged 5 to 7 to join our team as the Little Rockers mentor. You’ll run 30-minute music lessons for up to 4 kids at a time in Hamilton and help develop the program and curriculum alongside our other Little Rockers teacher.

LOGISTICS:

Subcontractor position + Super

Lessons: Monday and Wednesday afternoons, 3pm - 6pm

Optional: Teach your specialty instrument to older students from 6pm - 8:15pm and earlier in the afternoon as well if you would like to

Pay: $44 to $52 per hour + Super (depending on number of children in class)

Invoice weekly, payments made every Monday

Work during school terms (10 weeks at a time) with breaks during school holidays. Option to participate in workshops and events during holidays for extra work.

YOUR ROLE:

Teach 30-minute music lessons to groups of 1 to 4 kids, aged 5-7, on Tuesday afternoons

Prepare lesson plans and materials in advance.

Record lesson details in mymusicstaff.com.

Collaborate with the owner and our current Little Rockers teachers to develop and design the program and curriculum.

Contribute to designing and refining the Little Rockers program to keep lessons engaging and fun while teaching music fundamentals.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Experience and passion for working with kids aged 5-7.

Basic music knowledge and ability to play simple keys, ukulele, percussion, and singing (we can help fill gaps in knowledge if needed).

Warm, calm, passionate, inspiring, reliable, hardworking, and great with kids.

REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

Blue card (working with children check)

Music teacher's insurance (check out Duck for Cover)

Driver's license or ability to get to our studio at 217 Macarthur Ave, Hamilton

Qualifications in music, teaching, early childhood care, or counselling.

Experience working with Neurodivergent people and the LGBTQIA+ community
