Are you a passionate, committed leader in Early Years education with the drive to shape the foundation of children’s learning within an Islamic environment?

We are a warm, nurturing Islamic primary school seeking a qualified and experienced Early Years Manager to lead our EYFS provision. You will play a central role in developing a setting where children thrive spiritually, socially and academically, in line with the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage and our Islamic ethos.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

A recognised Early Years or Primary Teaching qualification (e.g. EYTS, QTS, PGCE, or Level 6+ in Early Years Education).
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership/management role within an early years setting.
Sound knowledge and experience of the EYFS statutory framework.
Proven ability to lead a team and manage a high-quality, safe, and enriching learning environment.
Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds, with sensitivity to Islamic values and family practices.
Essential Skills:

Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
A deep understanding of child development, safeguarding, and inclusive practice.
A warm, caring, and reflective approach, in line with Islamic adab and akhlaaq (manners and character).
The ability to engage with Muslim families in a culturally respectful and faith-sensitive manner.
Desirable:

Experience working in a faith-based or Islamic educational setting.
Understanding of how Islamic values can be embedded in Early Years learning and routines.
Familiarity with Islamic calendar events, duas, and child-friendly tarbiyyah (character education).
Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Knowledge of SEND processes and inclusive provision.
Job Description – Early Years Manager

Core Purpose:
To lead and develop an outstanding Early Years setting that nurtures children’s spiritual, academic, social and emotional growth in a caring Islamic environment.

Leadership & Management

Lead the EYFS team with professionalism and compassion, upholding the school’s Islamic ethos.
Ensure effective day-to-day running of the Early Years provision, including planning, safeguarding, staff management and curriculum delivery.
Mentor and support EYFS staff, modelling best practice and fostering continuous development.
Maintain strong links with SLT to support whole-school priorities.
Curriculum & Planning

Deliver a rich, creative and child-led curriculum that meets EYFS statutory requirements while embedding Islamic values and themes.
Use assessment to inform planning and track progress, ensuring every child is supported to achieve their potential.
Encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning through purposeful play and engaging activities.
Safeguarding & Welfare

Ensure the setting is compliant with all safeguarding legislation and acts in line with school policies.
Promote the health, safety and well-being of all children, ensuring their emotional and spiritual development is prioritised.
Model Islamic manners and language to children in daily routines and interactions.
Faith & Community Engagement

Work closely with parents and carers, respecting diverse levels of Islamic practice while building strong home–school partnerships.
Incorporate key Islamic events (Ramadan, Eid, Islamic months) into the EYFS curriculum in age-appropriate ways.
Support collective acts of worship, nasheeds, and positive behaviour rooted in Islamic teachings.
Strategic Development

Contribute to the school's improvement plan, supporting high-quality provision across the EYFS.
Monitor and review policies, procedures and provision, identifying areas for improvement and acting accordingly.
Take part in inspections and audits as required.
