About us

Norden Hills Family Assessment Centre provides independent, comprehensive family assessments, incorporating a high level of supervision for children and their parents/carers that are tailored to the individual needs of the family. The assessment is deemed a positive intervention with the emphasis of our work being focused on assessment and providing a learning/relearning experience for parents within an environment/situation that is sensitive and supportive.

To take the lead on all Early Years Practitioner work.
Build up a trusting relationship with parents/carers of key worker group.
To take responsibility for the safety, health, and welfare of children at all times.
To ensure that the child’s voice is an essential and integral part of the work and assessment with families.
To take responsibility for ensuring that any safeguarding concerns are reported to managers.
To work in partnership with parents, colleagues, social workers, other agencies, and professionals to support and improve the service offered to families.
To support the opportunity for parents to acquire the skills of parenting and independent living by empowering them through the direct work, education and guidance offered.
To advise the Safeguarding designated person/manager/deputy of any concerns, e.g. over children, parents, the safety of the environment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training.
To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job.
Qualifications, Education and Knowledge:

Minimum of a relevant and recognised Level 3 qualification in Childcare
Willingness to gain a recognised Professional Status i.e. Early Years Professional Status (EYPS)
Evidence of ongoing personal development training
Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development in a leadership role
Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate
Basic Food Hygiene
Knowledge of legislation relevant to Early Years such as EYFS, SEN, safeguarding, Childcare Act 2006, The Residential Family Centres Regulations 2002, Every Child Matters 2003
Knowledge of child development and children’s needs
Skills and Experience:

Pay: From £23,809.50 per year
