We are looking for a new member of staff to join our team delivering care and education within a pre - school environment.

Terms of employment
· Hours TBC
· Salary is paid monthly
· You will be provided with a mandatory staff uniform.
· New employees are expected to undertake 6 months’ probation
Job Outline: Early Years Practitioner:
· Be responsible in assisting in the daily setting up, clear away and running of the playroom
· Participate in development planning and policy review
· Liaise with parents/carers and other visitors to the setting
· Be responsible for a group of children. Carry out observations on your group to support and nurture their interests and learning.
· Maintain Key group Learning Profiles
· Record and Monitor children’s well being tracking through Personal Care Plans
· Participate in Planning and Monitoring the Curriculum
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Carry out observations on children
· Input into the compilation of Transition Records and Child Development records
· Attend training and development courses as agreed with the Nursery Manager
· Attend staff meetings
· Assist in all communications, newsletter etc. to ensure that parents/carers are kept informed of group activities as appropriate
· Be aware of current standards required by the Care Inspectorate, Education Scotland and other relevant bodies and assist in implementation of same
· Be familiar with current framework documentation and guidance; CfE, National Care Standards, HGIOELC, Realising the Ambition, Children's Rights and current legislation
· Carry out all duties with due regard to the health and safety of all group users, staff and visitors
· Such other duties as may from time to time be agreed with the Nursery Manager and or committee
Education
· Applicants must be qualified to SVQ level 3 or equivalent in Social Services (Children and Young People).
Skills
· Good organisational skills: the ability to organise own workload and provide support to children
· Strong listening skills: the ability to understand and acknowledge instructions received and interpret feedback from children
· Good communication skills
· Team player
· Good ICT skills

Desirable Experience
· Preferred minimum of 2 years’ experience in an early year setting
· You will be required to obtain an enhanced PVG license to fully carry out your role.
· Candidates will be required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a practitioner.
