Responsibilities
• Originate and execute transactions supported by European ECA, MDB / DFI as part of Standard Chartered Bank ECA Europe team based in London.
• Identify and originate ECA / MDB / DFI transactions from European sponsors, borrowers and contractors/exporters that target our footprint markets.
• Plan and implement marketing activities in assigned markets and following through on deal origination.
• Manage and develop relationships with the relevant European Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), Multilaterals and DFI to understand their policies and product programme.
• Deliver ECA/MDB/DFI structures to clients.
• Work across product groups in Global Credit Markets and Transaction Banking to cross sell other banking solutions.
• Develop relationships with key individuals in contractors / exporters, aggregators, ECAs/MDBs/DFIs, borrowers and project sponsors.
• Work as a core deal team member and ensure business opportunities and transactions are developed and executed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Support Structured Export Finance Europe Head and other relevant Regional Heads in originating and tracking opportunities in target markets.
• Manage deal execution / approval process efficiently and effectively and establish a good reputation for the PEF business with Credit within the Group and Standard Chartered Bank.
• Take initiative of origination (from sponsors and exporter clients), development, marketing, negotiation and execution of ECA / MDB / DFI supported transactions in relation to European sponsors / contractors / exporters.
• Use of ECA/MDB/DFI products and risk mitigation techniques to reduce credit and funding risks in both existing and future assets.
• Actively engage with the global/regional ECAs/MDB/DFIs to develop new structures and usage of new products introduced by these institutions.

Our Ideal Candidate
• Academic or Professional Education: BA or Master / MBA equivalent.
• Prior experience in ECA/MDB/DFI business from the relevant/similar organisations.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; fluency in German, Spanish, Italian and/or French language would be considered an asset.
• Previous experience with risk management and internal controls.
• Relevant market and product knowledge related to ECA/MDB/DFI business.
• Analytical aptitude, creative problem-solving abilities and corporate finance skills.
• Attention to detail and excellent numerical skills.
