Ngā Tamariki Pūawai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association is committed to excellence in education. We are excited to offer a permanent, ECE Kaiako position at our vibrant and welcoming Ōrākei Kindergarten.

About Ōrākei Kindergarten

At Ōrākei Kindergarten, we offer a unique and enriching curriculum that is environmentally focused, and action based. We are proud to be part of the Enviroschools programme and empower our tamariki to make a positive difference in the world through sustainable practices.

Our philosophy

Play-based learning: We believe play is essential for learning and development. We provide tamarki with time and space to explore their strengths and interests, fostering holistic growth.

Inclusive and respectful environment: We create a safe and inclusive space where tamarki feel empowered and confident. We nurture respectful relationships with our tamariki, each other, and Papatūānuku (the earth).

Strong relationships: We value building strong connections with our tamariki, whānau, and the wider community, fostering a sense of belonging.

Sustainability: We are passionate about protecting our environment and integrate sustainability practices into our daily learning experiences.

We are looking for a qualified and passionate ECE Kaiako who:

Is a registered and certificated ECE Kaiako with current first aid certificate

Has a strong commitment to environmental education and bicultural practices

Believes in the power of play-based learning

Is a team player who is flexible, adaptable, and independent

Possesses excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Has strong planning, assessment, and documentation skills

Values inclusivity and embraces the diversity of our tamariki, whānau, and community

Enjoys working directly with tamariki and getting involved in hands-on activities

Shares our passion for nature and integrates sustainability into teaching practices
