Job Summary

The Human Resource / Payroll Administrator will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including pre-screening applicants, on-boarding, processing payroll, benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly and monthly bonus payrolls.

• Handle all post-payroll activities and integration into the General Ledger.

• Ensures employees are enrolled in correct benefits w/correct deductions and allocates benefits billing in the GL accordingly.

• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, worker’s compensation, unemployment validation, FMLA and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

• Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

• Collaborates with departmental managers on all open positions and facilitates job postings.

• Conducts or acquires background checks, MVR reports, drug tests and employee eligibility verifications.

• Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

• Maintains compliance with federal, state, OSHA and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Need To Bring

• 3+ years of experience in a responsible human resources / payroll role and in a supervisory position.

• Strong knowledge of Federal and NC regulations such as FLSA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA, Workers' Compensation, 401(k), wage & hour guidelines and equal employment opportunity laws.

• SHRM or HR certification and ADP Work Force Now experience, a strong plus.

• Retail Automobile Experience is Highly Preferred.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a Retail Automotive Dealership.

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software.

The Position

Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
