ECS Speech Language Pathologist - Calgary & Area

Learning Potential Foundation is a private ECS looking for Speech-Language Pathologists who will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support the success for the children and families in our ECS programs.

*Due to consistent growth, Learning Potential is currently looking for Speech Language Pathologists for the upcoming 2025-26 school year as follows:

1) SLP in Airdrie & Carstairs (min 4 days/week; 3 days in Airdrie, 1 day in Carstairs; could offer 5 days/week if candidate prefers)

2) SLP in Calgary & Airdrie (5 days/week; 1-2 days in Calgary, 3-4 days in Airdrie)

3) SLP in Calgary (min 4 days/week; all days in Calgary (includes dayhomes and daycare); could offer 5 days/week if candidate prefers)

*Please note SLP positions require you to drive between sites. Valid drivers license and a vehicle are required for this position. A T2200 form will be provided for you so you can claim home office, cell phone, and vehicle expenses.

The children we work with are between 2-5 years of age and we utilize AB Ed funding to support children within our EAL, Mild/Mod, Mod, and PUF funded programs. The children we support range between Mild/Moderate, Moderate, and Severe speech delays and include varying levels of needs or diagnosis.

We work as a team and in collaboration with the teacher to develop strategies, coach and support team members and parents in daily classroom plans. Collaborate with teachers to develop, implement, and evaluate Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals.

Qualifications

-A Masters in Speech-Language Pathology and proof of registration with ACSLPA are required.

-The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic professional who is passionate about working with children, teachers, and families.

-field experience in rehabilitation including evaluation, treatment, case management, and program development is an asset but new SLP grads are welcome

-Provide clearance from a criminal record check (including vulnerable sector search); must be current within the past 6 months

-Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills with an ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff and community partners

-Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

-Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

-Analytical ability to evaluate clients with various diagnoses and establish an appropriate intervention plan

-High level of professionalism and confidentiality with an ability to deal with sensitive client issues

-Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritizing skills

Responsibilities and Activities

Identify speech and communication difficulty or disorder

Assess the cause and nature of the delay/need

Plan and implement the speech and language programming in alignment with the needs of the individual

Conduct screenings and assessments using formal and informal speech and language measures

Implement and document outcome measures for services and participate in team meetings related to the client

Complete treatment summary reports and assessments as required and ensure adequate documentation

Work as part of an interdisciplinary team across preschool and daycare environments

Assess and record client activities and progress for client evaluations

Establish workload priorities in collaboration with others in order to ensure optimal service delivery

Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals

Pay: $47.00-$5+.00 per hour
