About the role
CRN Australia is seeking a talented and hard-working Editor to join its ANZ editorial team.
You will be responsible for creating and leading editorial content in ANZ and growing the brand over time. This will involve producing a wide range of content including news, interviews and in-depth analysis. This content will be published in English, so a fluent English speaker is required to successfully fill this role.

You will be an organized editor who has the initiative and drive to plan, research and write breaking news and features.

As an Editor for the leading IT channel brand globally, your role will also include:
Finding and writing news, interviews, and features
Adapting global stories written by your colleagues in the APAC, US, UK, and elsewhere for your market
Presenting: This could include presenting in person to audiences at CRN conferences or digital webinars. Therefore, presenting or broadcast experience is preferable.

In-depth knowledge of the ANZ IT channel is essential.

The attributes of an influential Editor, including the highest levels of literacy, articulacy, and perseverance, as well as the ability to work well as part of a small but dedicated team, are essential.

What you'll do
Drive the news agenda, write and edit online content and raise the portfolio's digital and newsletter brands.
Manage the daily and weekly newsletters.
Think strategically about the content your audience needs.
Represent the brand at industry conferences and other events.
Some event chairing (physical and virtual) may be required.
Off-diary content-gathering skills paired with strong news writing.
The ability to understand CRN’s audience and the issues facing them, and build a network of valuable contacts.
Devise several stories a day that are valuable to CRN’s audience of IT vendors, distributors and resellers.
Deliver regular exclusive stories to help distinguish CRN from its competitors.
Interview senior executives, both face-to-face and over the phone/Zoom.
Cover international conferences of the big technology vendors, including Microsoft, AWS and Apple, either digitally or face-to-face. This may occasionally require working outside normal office hours.
Produce short and long-form analyses of key trends and market shifts in your area of responsibility.
Present and/or provide a V/O for video, participate in podcasts and chair events with appropriate training.
Distribute stories on social media – including your own account.
Monitor the competition to ensure CRN stays ahead.

Qualifications
Fluency in English with exceptional writing and editing abilities
Extensive tech journalism experience (10+ years)
Having experience as a senior journalist is an added advantage
Deep understanding of the ANZ IT channel
Confident and skilled in live presentations and on-stage appearances
Capability to adapt global stories for the local market
Previous experience in managing a team
Experience in driving the news agenda and managing digital content
Ability to represent the brand at industry conferences and events
Ability to monitor competitors and maintain a competitive edge
Valid right-to-work documentation allowing to work in Australia
