Introduction:
This is a senior Hadoop admin role . The person will need to support entire Hadoop estate – Production and DR Hadoop environments through lifecycle. This role is required to be part of Service Operations team and is required to work in shifts.
What will you be doing?
• Managing /leading a 247 DW (Hadoop) support team of the vast and complicated Hadoop estate
• Ownership and leadership of technical resolution for high severity production incidents (Sev 3 high, Sev 2 and Sev1)
• Adherence to Barclays standards for change control, database security and database patterns, adhering to bank’s governance and control procedures.
• Provide on-call rota support where required
• Lead and define database delivery requirements for Service Improvement Unit initiatives
• Able to clearly communicate complex technical issues to a wide audience.
• Analysis of re-occurring incidents and identify service improvements where possible.
• Be an effective, proactive team member, influencing the behaviour of colleagues internally and across Infrastructure Services
What we’re looking for:
• Ready to work in Production Operations
• Real time, hands-on experience in Cloudera Hadoop administration
• Expertise in Hive and Impala
• Working experience in Hadoop Security (TLS Encryption)
• Working experience in Kerberos + AD
• Strong Unix Background
• Clear understanding of Networks and Firewalls
• Working Experience in Cloudera distribution Hadoop(CDH) is must
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Working experience with Spark,Solr,Hbase and Kafka are preferred
• Cluster Performance
