Job Description
Conduct school-wide screening assessments in literacy and develop intervention plans at the school, class and individual student level.
Collaborate with teachers, school wide, and assist in lesson planning that may support generalisation or acquisition of specific therapy related skills in their classrooms.
Assess students skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans.
Adapt classroom lessons to meet the needs of students and push-in to provide support, as needed.
Develop Individualized Education Programs for each student.
Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each students abilities.
Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one.
Implement IEPs, assess students performance, and track their progress.
Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students progress and goals.
Discuss students progress with parents, teachers, counsellors, and administrators.
Meeting with parents as and when needed to support with behaviours at home.
Supervise and mentor shadow teachers who work with students.
Fulfill all PD requirements, including workshops, book clubs, online courses, etc.
