Job Overview
Sydney Catholic Schools is seeking a highly skilled Education Officer to join our team in the Post-School Pathways department. As an Education Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities and their families in determining pathways to work or further training/education options post-secondary school.
About the Role
This is a full-time temporary position available immediately until 3 years. The role reports to the Supervisor: K-12 Curriculum and Post School Pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Apply NESA syllabus requirements K-12, with particular emphasis on Stages 5 and 6, including Life Skills courses and Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses to support students into appropriate work or learning pathways.
Utilise NCCD data and other diagnostics to comprehensively assess student capabilities and competencies to determine appropriate post-school options.
Liaise with secondary principals, curriculum coordinators, and diverse learning teams in schools to collaborate and advise on the adjustments required for students engaging in a Life Skills program of study.
Maintain accurate and concise records of collaborative meetings and report on the impact of this collaboration as required.
Contribute to the implementation of all NCCD processes, including professional learning, data analysis, moderation, and other duties as required.
Facilitate professional learning opportunities at school, network, and system levels.
Implement advice and direction from leaders to achieve desired outcomes.
Coordinate and engage with students, their families, and a range of stakeholders during a period of significant transition.
Contribute to the work of the entire Diverse Learning team.
About You
To be successful in this position, you must possess a university degree in Education or teaching, a NESA recognised teaching qualification, and the ability to demonstrate practice equivalent to Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
You will also require a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience supporting students with disability in secondary school settings, comprehensive knowledge of NESA Stage 5 and 6 syllabus requirements, VET pathways, Life Skills courses, and credentialing procedures for students with disability.
Experience in leading staff in professional learning and demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and implementing school-wide initiatives are highly desirable.
A current driver's licence and access to a vehicle are also required.
