The Role
The role is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex to very complex logistics work within an integrated workforce. It requires an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

This includes knowledge of governance and logistics publications associated with the management of High Assurance Cryptographic Equipment. The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role. They will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to provide expert policy advice.

The position is accountable to plan, lead and manage a range of human and physical resources, exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes and manage sustainment and project cells in support of Cryptographic product.

About our Team
Our organisation is made up of distinctive teams that provide the sustainment philosophy, approvals, management, and accountability for a large proportion of the Cryptographic capability within Defence, Defence Industry, and Whole of Government.

The workforce is made up of diverse professionals with varied experience in sustainment, policy, program management and strategic analysis in Government and private sector and works closely with multiple agencies within and external to the Department of Defence.

We provide and support the cryptographic capability needs for Defence as aligned to National and Defence requirements. The team is passionate about delivering outcomes to support a whole of Government capability in support of Government initiatives.

Attention to detail and ability to engage with a range of stakeholders is important. We work across multiple disciplines and all team members are given the opportunity to further develop their skillset.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is an engaged professional with an interest Complex Logistics management and compliance to contribute to Australia’s strategic future.

The ideal candidate should be:

A self-starter who is prepared to adopt risk strategies to deliver capability in a high-tempo environment, in order to meet specific deadlines;
The ability to work in a challenging and dynamic organisation and mentor and/or establish teams to meet an evolving cryptographic landscape is essential;
The ability to interpret strategic policy and provide strategies to execute capability is a must along with being agile to adapt to change and be comfortable in a progressive working environment;
The ideal candidate is one who can pivot at short notice and have the ability to close out phases of work break down structures independently; and
Strong communications skills are essential as stakeholder engagement across several government organisations is core to the position.
