The Role
The introduction of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) into Defence is a major transformation that will change the way we do business. The program will eliminate hundreds of complicated and unnecessary structures, processes, systems and tools, and replace them with a new ERP solution that will provide a single, trusted source of accurate, near real-time information.

The Business Transformation team is a division established within the Associate Secretary Group (ASG) to lead implementation and business transformation elements of ERP within Defence. To support these activities, we require an experienced team member to join and lead the effective implementation of a value chain approach to Defence enabling functions, including process optimisation, prioritisation of ERP system enhancements.

As this key function continues to mature, we seek an innovative individual who is passionate about supporting Defence in achieving its mission. Working in this team provides the opportunity to play a pivotal role in transforming Defence resource planning and management, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and strategic decision-making capabilities.

About our Team
The Business Transformation Division is a small team that is delivering critical work towards ensuring that Defence is ready to support the implementation of ERP and achieve uplift in organisational outcomes through effective use of its ERP solution.

We are a multi skilled team and undertake a variety of activities including; Enterprise wide business process review and optimisation, business readiness support, organisational change management and workforce planning.

Led by Head Business Transformation (Australian Defence Force Two Star) we are looking for individuals who are keen to make a difference and support Defence as we look to venture further into the digital age.

Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a senior and experienced leader who has a strong background in large scale ERP implementations and can comfortably lead enterprise wide change initiatives.

To succeed in this role, applicants will:
Be accountable for managing, motivating and leading a small team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility, and guiding and developing people in a manner that delivers results.
Be accountable for scoping and implementing initiatives that support the employment of a value chain framework within Defence.
Analyse business processes across enabling functions within Defence and implement enterprise wide optimisation initiatives that drive greater alignment and performance in the delivery of enterprise functions and activities.
Build and sustain strong interactive relationships, inclusive of liaising with a range of stakeholders to successfully deliver enterprise wide outcomes.
Demonstrate adaptability and be flexible in addressing shifting priorities.
Operate legally and in compliance with public policy.
