• BE / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• 2-5 years previous experience in manufacturing/engineering preferred.
Role Overview:
The OMS - Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for manufacturing documentation, taking them from initial drafts to volume manufacturing ioms. The daily tasks include creation, review, modification and validation of OMS’s to facilitate manufacturing/assembly at the supplier level and in company manufacturing operations.
The OMS EE uses Schematics, modeling and drafting software routinely in the course of their role, principally Creo/Unigraphics/NX, Visio. They also use Team center to access designs/models. Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and the ability to engage with manufacturing floor to resolve issues is an added qualification for the OMS ME role.
Responsibilities:
• Interfaces with NPME, Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians and Quality teams to develop optimal operation sequences for parts and assemblies.
• Identifies key areas for product improvements and coordinates with other engineering functions to implement changes.
• Work closely with manufacturing operations management to prioritize areas for OMS/manufacturing documentation improvements.
• Makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements.
• Participates in New Product Builds & Champions issue resolution. Determines root cause analysis for issues that arise during assembly and/or test of systems; provides Long term corrective action.
• Perform time study to measure/record time for production processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Duties will vary according to the project in progress and/or the specific goals of the department in which the incumbent works.
Job Specific Knowledge:
• Manufacturing Methods
• Good Knowledge in Technical Documentation of Cable/Harness Connections, Routing, understanding of Schematics and Electrical Power & Controls
• Knowledge of Electrical Components like Power Cabinets, Switch Gears
• Basic knowledge on any cad tool (Creo/Unigraphics/NX) and Visio is added advantageous
• Requires demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing engineering discipline, theories, practices and principles.
Skills:
• Requires strong skills in Product technology, change management, problem solving, communication skills, customer orientation, personal effectiveness, team skills, and quality.
• Working knowledge of CAD tools (UG-NX & Team center)
• Requires additional knowledge of systems and software necessary such as MS Visio, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
