About The Position
BGIS are seeking proactive and engaging Electrician’s to join our dynamic Trades Team in Christchurch. This is a hands-on role supporting maintenance, renovation, and upgrade projects across both residential and commercial environments —working directly with a multi-disciplinary team on long-term, meaningful government client contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Carry Out Maintenance: Perform regular servicing and repairs on residential and commercial sites
Install and Upgrade Systems: Complete installations and upgrades of electrical systems and components
Work With Other Trades: Collaborate with Plumbers, Carpenters, and other trades on shared tasks
Communicate With Clients: Maintain clear and professional communication with clients
Ensure Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety rules and electrical regulations
Support Projects: Assist with renovations and upgrade projects from start to finish
Demonstrate Leadership: Provide constructive feedback to the Site Foreman & Delivery Manager and support a culture of continuous improvement on site
Skills and Experience
NZ Certificate in Electrical, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent recognised qualification
Must hold a valid NZ Electrical Registration and Practising Licence
Experience in residential maintenance, upgrades, or renovation projects
Sound knowledge of Health & Safety practices and compliance obligations
Ability to use iPad and mobile apps for time & task reporting
A Full (Class 1) NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport
