Job Summary
To provide a professional and effective electrical service to the engineering department.
Responsibilities and Duties
Carry out and ensure planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is completed on all relevant equipment daily, weekly, monthly and as planned.
Maintenance of electrical installations and associated equipment.
Installation of electrical systems and associated equipment.
Respond to all reactive maintenance within the specified service level agreements.
Assist in the preparation of estimates / quotations as required.
Responsibility for allocated work orders from receipt to completion.
Provide progress reports on allocated work orders.
Immediately notify the supervisor of any safety issues or concerns. Maintain a safe place of work.
Adhere to all regulations in respect of electricity at work.
Adhere to the electrical department quality management system.
Strong teamwork ethic and promotion of customer service excellence.
Record keeping and produce detailed work reports, as required.
Flexible availability for 24/7 standby duties and emergency call outs.
Respond to electrical emergencies within the agreed time-frames.
Carry out, to the best of your ability, all tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Always maintain a clean and tidy appearance. Uniform must be worn and should be clean and in a good state of repair.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience with relevant history of electrical installation, maintenance and repair in large, commercial premises.
Minimum technical certificate or diploma in electrical or relevant qualification. Experience of safe working practices, risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work systems.
Experience of installation, testing and maintenance of HV and LV distribution systems.
Experience of standby power systems including prime movers and UPS.
Knowledge of HSEQ practices and policies.
Able to prioritise work and meet deadlines. Maintain accuracy when under pressure.
Strong teamwork ethic and promotion of customer service excellence.
Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
Good English language ability both spoken and written. Spoken Arabic, Hindi or Urdu an advantage.
