St. Albert Public Schools is currently seeking an Elementary Music Teacher to join the team at Sir Alexander Mackenzie Elementary School for the 2026-2026 school year. FTE: 0.8 FTE; Part-Time Probationary
Responsibilities:
Design and implement engaging music lessons for elementary students (Grades K-6).
Develop and present music theory concepts, explore diverse musical genres and encourage student expression through singing and instrumental playing.
Prepare students for performances and school concerts.
Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to integrate music into the school curriculum.
Nurture strong relationships with students, parents, and the school community.
Collaborate and contribute to high quality instruction and assessment throughout various other aspects of the school.
Qualifications and Attributes:
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Formal education specific to Music Education (or related field) is an asset.
Experience teaching music in an elementary school setting (preferred).
Proficiency in music theory, instrumental playing (e.g., piano, guitar, recorder), and vocal techniques.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
Commitment to a positive school culture & building community
Experience with youth vocal programs an asset
