You are responsible for
• Embedded Software Design
• Develop software designs from product requirements for embedded systems.
• Develop rapid prototype software for risk reduction and proof of concept efforts.
• Aid in performing hazard and fault analysis for safety-critical systems.
• Application Software Development
• Implement software code from designs and requirements that will execute on embedded systems.
• Perform analysis and multiple levels of test to ensure proper operation and acceptable performance.
• Above duties to be applied to maintaining existing software in fielded products as well as new products being developed, for all phases of the software lifecycle.
• Software Process
• Software engineering work described above would be done in accordance with accepted software processes, such as IEC62304, as well as other applicable medical standards.
• Significant experience in software development and testing on embedded systems
• Familiarity with design aspects of real-time embedded systems
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Languages: C, C++, Python, SQLite
• Experience in developing software for medical devices or other high-reliability, safety critical systems.
• Experience in hardware interfacing, low power microcontrollers/microprocessors, Interfacing with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth device drivers
• Experience with communication protocols and communications-related software development (Radio, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)
• Experience with computing infrastructure (operating systems, CPUs, board support packages, process profiling, etc.)
• Familiarity with any specific software development processes, particularly IEC62304
• Experience in developing software in a regulated environment, such as medical, avionics, or defence.

Technical or university degree or equivalent in computer science or computer engineering desired.
