Job Description
Semitechnic is a small, engineering-first company building advanced embedded electronic platforms for real-world, high-reliability environments.
We operate like a skunkworks team:
Small group. Hard problems. High ownership.
Minimal layers between engineering decisions and real-world impact.
We care deeply about engineering quality, technical honesty, and building systems that work outside the lab.
The Role
This is a core technology role.
You will help define the architecture, design philosophy, and technical foundation of our embedded platforms. You will work across hardware and firmware boundaries and help solve problems that typically live between disciplines.
You will not be handed tickets.
You will be trusted with problems.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Architect embedded systems from first principles
• Design and review complex electronic hardware
• Define embedded firmware architecture and structure
• Debug difficult cross-domain issues (signal, timing, firmware behavior, system interactions)
• Make design decisions that affect long-term platform direction
• Help establish how engineering is done as the company scales
Environment
You will likely thrive here if you:
• Prefer small, high-talent teams over large organizations
• Like solving problems that are not fully defined yet
• Care about physics, signals, timing, and real-world behavior — not just simulation
• Like owning systems end-to-end
• Are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
• Value engineering depth over process theater
Baseline Requirements
• ~8–12+ years in embedded hardware/firmware system design
• Proven history of shipping real embedded hardware products
• Deep schematic design understanding
• Strong PCB design and layout review capability
• Expert embedded C/C++
• Strong intuition for analog + digital behavior in real systems
• Advanced lab debugging skills
Strong Signals
(Not required, but they get attention)
• You have been the person people call when things “should work but don’t”
• You have owned architecture, not just implementation
• You have fixed a hardware problem using firmware, or vice versa
• You have worked in startups, advanced R&D teams, or small elite engineering groups
• You have taken at least one product from concept to production
What Success Looks Like
• You solve problems others avoid
• You make systems simpler, more robust, and more scalable
• You influence technical direction without needing authority titles
• You help make everyone around you better engineers
Compensation
• Highly competitive salary (impact and experience based)
• High-growth technical leadership path
• Flexible work structure
• Opportunity to help define foundational technology
How to Apply

• Resume
• (Optional but encouraged) Anything you’ve built, designed, or shipped that you’re proud of
