The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Emergency Department team as a Lead Nurse. The successful candidate will provide operational direction for the department, ensuring efficient and effective management of the area. They will coordinate the delivery of nursing care, which is evidence-based, and manage human, financial, and material resources effectively. As the Lead Nurse, you will also undertake direct patient care as required and provide guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and clinical support to the department
- Coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based
- Manage human, financial, and material resources effectively
- Undertake direct patient care as required
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team
Selection Criteria
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Working with Children check
- Previous experience at NUM 1 level or equivalent
- More than 5 years Emergency Nursing experience
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care
- High degree of computer literacy
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
- Demonstrated human resource management experience
