Job Description
Main Responsibility:
This position is a member of the Ambulance crew of the Emergency Medical Services. EMT-A plays a crucial role in providing lifesaving interventions/medications to the patients/customers that use the service. The EMT-A is the Team Leader in the ALS (Advanced Life Support) & ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support) Units, taking charge of each situation and providing the necessary guidance and instruction to the Ambulance team.
EMT-A is also responsible for maintaining the quality standards and bench mark service to all patients/customers. EMT-A can carry out medical interventions as per already defined SOP’s and can be a mentor for newly hired Ambulance Staff.
Emergency Medical Services:
• Maintains professional and cordial relations with co-workers including Supervisors, Coordinators, Nurses, Ambulance Drivers, and other support staff.
• Takes over the ambulance after duly completing the handing over and taking over procedure at the start of each shift.
• Cross checks and signs off the taking-over sheet, filled in by the EMT-B, for all the medicines, consumables, instruments and appliances on board the Ambulance in the patient cabin.
