Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We have a great opportunity for a talented, passionate, and driven relationship manager to join the team to cover for parental leave. In this varied role, you will work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop mutually beneficial relationships between AUT and industry. You'll hold a portfolio that reaches several areas of the university, allowing room for connection and creativity across different industry sectors and disciplines. You'll need to maintain solid relationships with industry to ensure a deep understanding of what the different employers and industries are looking for in graduates and maintaining a solid grasp of the graduate employment market. You'll share these insights with the wider employability team to ensure relevance and accuracy of advice and information given to students.
You'll have the opportunity to facilitate innovative ways for students and industry to engage, building on what we already do successfully to support students exploring their future careers, and for industry to develop their talent pipeline and access AUT's great graduates. You'll be responsible for the planning and execution of an exciting and varied industry event calendar for students to truly embrace opportunities and really understand what the 'world of work' looks like as they make the exciting transition from student to employee.
Nga haepapa matua | Key Responsibilities
You will likely come from a client relationship manager, account manager, or business development role with at least five years demonstrable experience of building and maintaining strong partnership with a variety of clients.
A natural 'people person' with an affinity for students and the tertiary environment, easily building networks and great working relationships with staff, students, and external clients.
Experience planning, organising, and running events.
Organised and efficient with exceptional time management and attention to detail.
Innovative and problem solving oriented.
An exceptional communicator, with excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels
Presentation will be one of your strengths and you will be comfortable talking to large groups
You will have the chance to make an immense impact in this role creating mutually beneficial partnerships and facilitating students' success. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant experience in the tertiary sector.
