The Employee Relations Advisor partners with business to resolve Employee/Industrial Relations (ER) issues on both a strategic and individual level.

Deliver high quality employee relations support, research, advice and analysis in partnership with broader human resources and Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) business areas, to directly contribute to ER strategy, consultation and operations that support optimum outcomes for DCJ in resolution of employee and industrial relations matters.

What you'll do

As part of the Employee Relations Team, you will be involved in all aspects of employee/industrial relations in a diverse range of issues which supports the Department to deliver services to the community.

You will undertake projects and policy development. Partner with stakeholders to support effective outcomes to ER matters.

You'll work as part of a team that provides ER advice and support to all areas of DCJ and manages consultation and negotiation with relevant unions. The team also represents DCJ in various jurisdictions.

This role will undertake a suite of industrial relations functions including preparing and advocating cases before industrial and human rights tribunals with support, supporting Joint Consultative Committees with unions, and attending meetings with management and/or unions on individual issues.

What we're looking for

In addition to the essential requirements ideal candidate should have:

Formal qualifications in Human Resources/ER or experience in a HR/ER role
An understanding of current legislation and policy relating to industrial relations
Someone who is self-motivated, comfortable with working both from home and in a team environment in the office
Knowledge/experience in industrial and human rights tribunals is desirable
Has the ability to work autonomously and also well in a team, in an ever-changing work and industrial environment
