Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Endoscopy Bookings Clerk. to join the Endoscopy Bookings team at Northern Health.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the role:
This role requires working in the Northern Health Elective Endoscopy Centre based at The Northern Hospital campus. The Booking Clerk is part of a team who works in collaboration with the Endoscopy Liaison Nurses (ELN) performing the administration duties involved in the booking of patients for elective endoscopy and the management of these patients whilst on the preparation list. The team is responsible for the provision of clinically appropriate and timely access for patients awaiting elective endoscopy procedures. The ELNs rely upon this role to provide factual, reliable, and responsive information to the team.
This role is responsible for making endoscopy and preadmission bookings, sending correspondence to patients, taking telephone and email enquiries from patients who are awaiting planned endoscopy procedures, performing all administrative tasks involved with maintaining and managing the Planned Endoscopy List and working closely with the Endoscopy Liaison Nurse to ensure the optimal management of all patients on the Endoscopy Preparation List.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an endoscopy/surgical services bookings area.
Demonstrated high level customer service skills.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent time management skills & a well-developed ability to prioritise a workload.
Well-developed telephone etiquette & techniques
Ability to deal with a high volume of phone calls and emails.
Ability to communicate and assist with people from various backgrounds within the community.
Advanced computer and keyboarding skills
