Learn and grow in a supportive, team-focused environment
Adelaide based
Join a team that's All Kinds of Useful
At Origin, being useful is more than a tagline - it’s how we approach work every day. As a collective, we’re a team that thrives on finding better ways, working together, and owning our impact. From powering homes to delivering award-winning internet and helping to lead Australia’s energy transition. If you’re driven by purpose and excited to be part of something bigger, we’d love to have you on the journey.
At Origin Energy, we help power homes and businesses across Australia. We’re looking for friendly, motivated people who want to be part of a team, learn new skills and enjoy helping customers and solving problems.
This is an identified role, and we warmly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Origin is committed to creating a culturally safe and inclusive workplace where Indigenous employees can thrive.
About the role
In this role, you will speak with new and existing customers and support them with their energy services. Some customers will contact you, and at other times you may reach out to customers to assist with their account.
Your goal is to make things simple and easy for customers while helping them find the right energy plan for their needs.
You’ll work in a supportive team environment and receive training to help you succeed.
What you’ll do
Support customers across phone and email by listening carefully, understanding their needs, and providing clear, respectful assistance.
Help customers join Origin, stay with Origin, or make changes when moving house or updating their energy plans or inernet services.
Resolve customer questions and issues, offering products and services that best suit each customer’s circumstances.
Work closely with your team, supporting one another and sharing ideas to improve the customer experience.
Continue building your knowledge of Origin’s products, systems, and ways of working through ongoing learning and development.
Act as the primary point of contact for our Indigenous customers, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed with culturally appropriate and accessible support.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to know everything about energy — we will provide training.
What matters most is that you enjoy helping people and communicating with customers.
We’re looking for someone who:
Enjoys helping customers
Communicates clearly and comfortably with people
Works well in a team
Has a positive attitude and is willing to learn
Can think through problems and find solutions
Sales or Customer Service experience is helpful, but not essential
Why work with us
At Origin, we care about our people, our customers and the communities we serve.
Some of the benefits include:
Full training and ongoing development
Access to online learning and career development programs
21 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers
Paid volunteer leave so you can support your community
Cultural leave for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees to meet cultural and community obligations
Energy discounts on a range of Origin products
Supportive leaders and team environment
Wellbeing and support programs
Access to our Employee Share Plan
Apply
If you enjoy helping people and want to build a career in a supportive team, we would love to hear from you.
Even if you don’t meet every requirement listed above, we encourage you to apply. We value attitude, willingness to learn and a passion for helping customers.
This is an identified position and is open only to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. We are committed to supporting Indigenous employment and creating meaningful career opportunities.

Enjoy a challenging career in an exciting industry where you can grow and explore your potential. If you think you have transferable skills, an appetite to learn and would be a great fit, we’d love to hear from you.
Background checks may be required to determine your suitability for this position as part of the recruitment process and during your employment. These checks may include police checks, AusCheck, medical assessment and/or drug and ******* testing.
