As an Engineer 3 - Plumber at The Beverly Hills Hotel, your compensation will be $35.72 per hour.
What you'll do
Our Engineer 3 – Plumber ensures the flawless operation of all plumbing systems throughout the hotel, playing a critical role in maintaining the comfort, safety, and luxury experience for our guests. From addressing in-room plumbing issues to servicing large-scale building systems, this position combines expert skill with impeccable service.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to guest room and operational calls related to plumbing issues (e.g., clogs, leaks, no hot water, low pressure).
Repair, install, and maintain all plumbing systems including domestic water, gas, sanitary drainage, backflow devices, and related equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance on water heaters, boilers, pumps, and water filtration systems.
Read plumbing schematics and blueprints to diagnose and complete complex repairs.
Use proper techniques for soldering, pipe fitting, fixture replacement, and drain maintenance.
Fill out daily logs, inspection reports, and work order tracking sheets accurately.
Coordinate with vendors or outside contractors when necessary and ensure work is performed to standard.
Identify and proactively report plumbing issues that could impact operations or guest experience.
Communicate effectively with engineering leadership and other departments to ensure seamless service.
Respond to special guest requests with urgency and professionalism.
The items shared are essential. However, to ensure consistency, our Engineer 3 - Plumber are provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to but not limited to the following: standing, sitting, squatting, climbing, walking. Vision is a key element, close vision, distance vision, clarity and color vision are very important. There can be a lot of up close intricate work. A full range of motion is also required, there will be times when crawling, bending, twisting, reaching, working with hands over your head will be needed. There will be pulling and pushing involved of tools and or equipment. There is a need for hand strength, gripping tools, pulling wire, securing ropes, etc. Balance and agility are also important. Working on a ladder is also a requirement. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The proper lifting techniques are to be used and proper equipment to be employed.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. To include hot days, cold days, rainy days, overnight hours. You can be exposed to dust, fumes, odors, moisture, fluids, cleaners solvents and paints. Employee will get dirty, there are jump suits and additional uniforms for that reason. Will be exposed to uncomfortable noise levels to include: hammering, pounding, grinding, sanding, scraping, loud equipment of hand tools. If you find yourself in these condition the approved safety equipment.
What you'll bring
5+ years plumbing experience in hospitality, commercial, or residential environments.
California C-36 Plumbing Contractor License or Los Angeles County Journeyman Plumber Certification.
Strong knowledge of building plumbing codes and best practices.
Ability to use all related tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
Mechanically inclined; able to support general engineering work when needed.
Dependable, proactive, and service-oriented with a positive attitude.
English is the primary language used in our hotel. Our Engineer 3 Plumber must feel comfortable communicating in this language.
Attention to detail is critical for our this role.
Our hotels operate nonstop, this require flexibility from everyone on the team.
