Main Purpose:
Sr. Lead Engineer, Well Completions is responsible for providing Deepwater Completions, Well Testing, Work-Over and Interventions technical and operational expertise required to deliver deep-water well designs, planning and programmes that meet business objectives and are in compliance with local regulations and in conformance with all RIL’s and industry standards. The incumbent will work with cross-functional peers in Reservoir Development, Projects and Subsea to ensure designs meet all relevant business objectives. The successful individual is expected to provide coaching and mentoring to completion, well testing and intervention engineers.
Job Accountabilities:
• Provides expert level input to deepwater completions, testing and interventions design & operations per the requirements of RIL’s Well Delivery Guidelines and Well Activity Work Flow
• Assures that well control and process safety risks are recognized and managed in deepwater completions and interventions design and operations.
• Assures deepwater completions and interventions time and cost estimates to support project FID and well AFE’s are consistent.
• Technically reviews the deepwater completions and interventions section of the well SOR.
• Lead & implement CWOP exercises & procedural / operational risk assessment.
• Leads the development of deepwater completions and interventions design & operational plans and documents (well / job program, MoCs etc) in the Completions or Interventions Design Documents and associated Field BODs.
• Lead deepwater completion related engineering studies.
• Initiate the well testing activities to obtain the fluid types, properties, productivity and volume of the wells through practical efficient, cost effective and safe well testing program and implementation.
• Identify, initiate, and monitor the workover activities to revive, enhance or maximise the potential of existing wells through comprehensive identification, analysis, integration and the development of the workover programs.
• Lead and guide the development, integration and implementation of new well completions / program in order to meet the short term and long term targets
• Preparation of functional and technical specifications for tubulars, equipment and completion processes to deliver the expected reliability & production rates.
• Specify completion and intervention equipment and services and lead the evaluation, tender and procurement process. Review technical offers from bids, and provide technical recommendations required for award of work.
• Drives the implementation of new deepwater completions and interventions procedures, practices and technology and shares global and industry learnings with the Project team.
• Reviews and benchmarks deepwater completions, well testing and interventions execution and performance to identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Provides operational support as required & technical expertise to troubleshoot major operational problems
• Visit offshore & shore base during critical operations / SITs / Audits etc
• Supports the development of deepwater completions, well testing and intervention engineers through technical coaching and supervision of engineering work.
• Maintenance and updating of completions, workover, and well services documentation and data
• Deployment and coordination with completions supervisors.
• Coordinate QA/QC of completion equipment and tools.
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills):
• Experience in delivering deepwater subsea completions, DST and interventions designs and operations for either an operator and/or service company on multiple well engineering project types.
• Proven competency in planning and execution of sand control completions ( e.g, CHFP, OHGP, alternative path design )
• Extensive experience of upper completion systems components, their design and application.
• Sound specific knowledge of well engineering and all completions technologies.
• Sound knowledge of various services applied in operations (Coil Tubing, Slickline, Stimulation, Casing and tubular running services, hardware, logging etc.)
• Expert knowledge of deepwater completions and interventions design, planning and execution of deepwater completions and interventions jobs including engineering assurance and QA/QC requirements.
• Experienced practitioner in project well completion workflow processes.
• Experience in supporting completions and interventions operations; demonstrated ability to evaluate well performance.
• Demonstrate safety and technical leadership of completion, well testing and interventions well activities.
• Demonstrate leadership with technical coaching of less experienced engineers.
Qualification:
Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline or higher. Degree in Petroleum Engineering is preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum 15 years of Industry experience.
• Five year experience in the planning, designing of Deepwater Completions for Major Operator / Service Company .
