• Pay range: $125,000–$165,000 (base salary)

Role Impact
This role drives cloud adoption and infrastructure modernization for a large, complex professional services environment. The Engineer designs, implements, and optimizes secure cloud and hybrid architectures while acting as a senior escalation point for infrastructure and operations challenges. The position directly impacts system resilience, security posture, cost efficiency, and business continuity across a global technology footprint.
Key Responsibilities
• Cloud architecture design and implementation for public, private, and hybrid environments
• Infrastructure security alignment with firm-wide policies and cloud security best practices
• Application performance, uptime, and scalability assurance
• Legacy and cloud infrastructure vulnerability analysis and remediation
• Cloud resource optimization for performance and cost management
• Cloud transformation planning in partnership with Platform Engineering
• Incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and preventive controls
• Infrastructure standards, guardrails, and technical documentation development
• Modular cloud system development and deployment
• Automation enhancements for configuration consistency, compliance, and lifecycle management
• Vendor solution testing, benchmarking, and technical evaluation
• Architecture validation before, during, and after cloud migrations
• BC/DR compliance for new and existing systems, including testing and documentation
• IT operations escalation support and cross-team collaboration
• Adherence to change management, service continuity, and operational policies
• MUST HAVE
• Strong Networking Background
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP
• Strong Routing/Switching background
• SilverPeak SD-WAN Experience
• Azure Exposure
• Lower Priority: Experience utilizing Azure and migrating organizations to Azure
• Onsite downtown Chicago 3 or 4 days a week
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of cloud and infrastructure engineering experience
• Experience with on-premise to cloud transformation initiatives
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale environments
