Engineering Manager
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• Serve in a supervisory capacity to help oversee technical and engineering teams within the company, leading a large team of 60 engineers and ensuring that projects are completed on budget and in a timely manner
• Assess the feasibility of potential design projects, determine what resources are required to complete them, recruit, and manage employees, and serve as a liaison between team members and upper management.
• Knowledge of various codes and requirements (ASME/CE/PED/AS/ EIGA/CGA/PESO)
• Ensuring the validity of methods used by engineering staff and reviewing all important technical content for accuracy
• Generate progress reports or problem resolution reports to upper management that details how the manager’s team has performed.
• Oversee project costing and budgets.
• Manage the senior members of each engineering department.
• Ensure compliance with project-specific contracts and customer requirements.
• Developing detailed plans for new designs and products
• Responsible for allocating and facilitating training for all new design staff
• Responsible for the quality of work and cost management of the department
Competencies
• Skills required to support these duties include organization, critical and analytical thinking, leadership, and communication.
• Excellent planning skills for large-scale industrial projects
• Excellent people management and upliftment skills.
• Proficient in English with good communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word) & PDF
• Competent especially in the packaging of plants and equipment
• Competent in multi-disciplinary management, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical design, and structural.
Education and Experience
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical) is required and +15 years of experience in a management role of an engineering company. Experience in the design of Air separation plants and LNG plants is a necessity.
