The Business
Formed in 2009, Genus Infrastructure stems from a long family history dating back to the 1960's delivering end to end innovative solutions in many sectors across Australia, specialising in Transmission, Distribution, Substation, Communications & Renewable Energy.
The Role
Genus Infrastructure is seeking applications from experienced Engineering Technologists to fill roles based in on our major projects across Australia including country region. The Engineering Technologist will be responsible for the:
Performing overall quality control of all work and reporting regularly on project status.
Interpreting Client needs and requirements and comprehending the Client's scope of work and technical specifications.
Develop preliminary and finalised Bill of Materials (BOM's) for various Project materials, and verify and reconcile BOM's to latest drawings.
Raise, record and expedite Technical Queries (TQ's)
Assist with the review of Construction schedules.
Produce and expedite and Workpacks for Inspection and Testing.
Identify and assess drawing changes for any financial or time cost impact.
QA/QC inspections of foundation and lines construction.
Establish field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests.
Create frameworks to measure the Project metrics and data collection.
Preparation of the red-line mark up on drawings and keep record for As-Built drawings.
Propose engineering solutions for site modifications where required.
Analyse and review engineering deliverables to confirm they are in accordance with the standards set.
Client Relationship Management:
o Liaise with clients daily to interpret their needs and requirements for allocated projects, including:
o Build strong client partnerships.
o Strive for high client satisfaction.
o Responding to and anticipating client needs in a timely, professional, helpful, and courteous
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications
Tertiary Degree in Engineering.
Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering or project management roles.
Demonstrated good safety record and knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, and familiarity with Australian industry regulations, applicable codes, best practice and performance standards.
Ability to interpret Scope of Work documentation and design drawings and familiarisation with drafting software tools including AutoCAD, Microstation or Solidworks.
Organisation skills to coordinate multiple tasks on multiple projects in accordance with the overall project plan.
Possess high level of analytical ability required to solve complex problems.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Ability to work independently using own initiative and within a cohesive team environment.
High level strategic and analytical thinking, numerical and problem-solving skills.
Proactively focused on achieving results and reporting improvements.
Ability to resolve conflicts and develop effective solutions.
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications
Qualifications in Operations or Project Management.
Engineering experience or knowledge base.
Experience within a professional engineering firm, utilities, resources, or construction industry.
