HunterNet Career Connections, in partnership with our host company, are seeking an Engineering Trainee to join the team in Warners Bay. This is an exciting opportunity for a school leaver or someone looking for a career change to complete the Certificate II Engineering over 12 months whilst working full-time.
Our host company is a leading Australian manufacturer and supplier of steel building products including roofing, cladding, rainwater, structural and fencing. You will be working with a dedicated team in the sales department.

The duties of this role include, but are not limited to:
Learn to operate machinery to manufacture products in line with specifications and standards whilst following the production schedule
Ensure that machinery is utilised efficiently by following the relevant manufacturing instructions
Ensure that products are continuously inspected by means of quality control throughout the manufacturing process to maintained the required quality levels
Ensure that product is packaged by following the relevant packaging instructions as written in the work instructions
Use lifting equipment including forklifts (should this become a requirement, a license shall be provided)
Ensure that plant cleanliness and housekeeping standards are maintained at the highest possible level
Work within a team environment to ensure productivity
Troubleshoot problems and adjust machine settings as required and shown
Report any injuries and unsafe conditions, practices and equipment
Follow all Work Health and Safety policies, procedures, relevant work instructions, and safe work method statements and risk assessments
Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures
Perform other duties as requested by the Plant Manager
What we’re looking for:
Sound literacy and numeracy skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Willingness to work, including shift work if required
Forklift licence or the willingness to obtain
Good understanding of Work Health and Safety in a factory environment
Committed to completing practical and theory-based study requirements of a 12-month traineeship
