Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role
Start in January 2026 and join Ara's Portfolio of Business and English, delivering high-quality academic English programmes from NZCEL Level 3 Applied to Level 5. As a Senior Academic Staff Member (SASM), you'll lead the development and delivery of learning experiences that meet or exceed student and stakeholder expectations. This includes designing tailored materials and assessments, supporting a team of tutors across campuses, and ensuring consistent programme quality. You'll collaborate with staff and stakeholders to achieve Faculty goals and uphold Ara's mission, vision and values.
Senior Academic Staff Members are required to have a recognized teaching qualification.
Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako - Skills and Experience
A Bachelor's degree
or a post-graduate diploma in a language related area
or 720 hours' English language teaching experience
or a Diploma of Teaching
Experience in teaching Academic Writing, Study Skills and/or English for Academic Purposes to adults
Vision, innovation and a commitment to facilitating own and others' learning.
Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
Sound professional judgment and integrity
Friendly and approachable manner
