Indian Women Impact, a renowned NGO dedicated to providing quality education to underprivileged students, is seeking a skilled and passionate English teacher to join our team. We aim to empower students with strong language skills and foster a love for literature.
Responsibilities:
• Design and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students up to 8th grade.
• Develop lesson plans that cover grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing skills, and oral communication.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, including interactive activities, storytelling, group discussions, and multimedia resources, to make English lessons interesting and interactive.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and builds confidence in English language skills.
• Promote a love for literature by introducing students to age-appropriate literary works, including short stories, poems, and excerpts from classic and contemporary texts.
• Encourage critical thinking and creativity through writing assignments, journaling, and class discussions.
• Provide individualized support to students with varying levels of English proficiency, addressing their unique learning needs.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, and provide constructive feedback to foster improvement.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to integrate English language skills into interdisciplinary projects and promote holistic learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and performance.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in English language instruction or working with underprivileged students.
• Strong command of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, and written and oral communication skills.
• Passion for teaching and the ability to inspire students to excel in English language skills.
• Familiarity with age-appropriate literature and the ability to make literary works engaging and relatable for students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods and approaches to meet the needs of individual students.
• Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for instructional purposes.
