Job Summary
Cathedral Catholic High School teachers prepare students for life after high school by teaching them the knowledge and skills they will need to be successful in college and the workforce.
In preparation for increased enrollment, CCHS is recruiting teachers who are familiar with and supportive of the educational philosophy of the school and the Diocese of San Diego.
Key Responsibilities:
To embrace the use of technology as an educational tool.
To observe the school calendar and be available to students and parents before and after school.
To be an active collaborator with the department and professional colleagues.
To fulfill the normal workload of a full-time teacher, which includes teaching five classes, holding conferences with students and parents, supervising student activities, developing and using lesson plans, attending faculty meetings, and meeting yearly expectations for professional development and spiritual growth.
Requirements:
To be supportive of the educational philosophy of the school and the Diocese of San Diego.
To have a growth mindset.
To be an effective communicator with colleagues, parents, and students.
To be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions:
The employee is required to remain in a classroom at a computer workstation, access information from a computer, and use a telephone. They must also be mobile to attend meetings, briefings, and other work-related events. The employee may conduct trips to various city and county-wide locations to attend meetings or events.
Catholic Christian Witness:
Cathedral Catholic High School teachers are expected to uphold the obligations of Catholic Christian witness and cooperate fully with the school's religious activities.
