Job Description
Kells students come from all corners both of Montreal and of the world. They represent a variety of cultures and cultural perspectives. Responsibilities
Teach one section of Secondary 5 English
Understand and apply the curriculum objectives, protocols and culture of Kells Academy
Attend and contribute to team meetings
Attend required school events beyond the school day, such as Open House, curriculum night, and parent-teacher interviews
Take advantage of professional development opportunities
Communicate regularly with administration, parents and students regarding student progress
Complete other duties as assigned by the school principal
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English or in education; Master’s preferred
Strong teaching background, including training and experience, in English Language Arts (not ESL)
Familiarity with the Quebec English curriculum
Successful experience working with a diverse student population
Quebec teaching license
Schedule and Accountability
Approximately 23 % of full-time
Starting August 18, 2026
Teaching and supervisory responsibilities fall mainly within the regular school day (8:00 am - 4:00 pm) Monday through Friday
Reports to the principal
