A fantastic opportunity exists to become part of the casual pool to undertake shifts at the Prince of Wales Hospital. Shifts are available in all areas including medical and surgical units and working on a casual basis means maintaining that all important work life balance.
Where you'll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than +00,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care. As an Enrolled Nurse in SESLHD, you will be an integral part of the interdisciplinary team in the provision of person-centred care; and support other nurses/ midwives and care roles. As an Enrolled Nurse you will work under the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse and retain responsibility for your own actions and remain accountable to the Registered Nurse for all allocated functions.

Functions in accordance with the law, policies and procedures affecting EN practice
Practices nursing in a way that ensures the rights, confidentiality, dignity and respect of people is upheld

Interprets information from a range of sources in order to contribute to planning appropriate care
Collaborates with the RN, the person receiving care and the healthcare team when developing plans of care
Provides skilled and timely care to people whilst promoting their independence and involvement in care decision-making
Communicates and uses documentation to inform and report care
Provides nursing care that is informed by research evidence
Practices within safety and quality improvement guidelines and standards
Engages in ongoing development of self as a professional
