Te Mahi | About the role

Healthvision is expanding our Community Nursing Service in Bay of Plenty and we’re seeking an experienced Enrolled Nurse to deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing treatment in the community. You’ll work with people in their homes (or other community settings as required), focusing on wound care and other delegated clinical interventions within your Enrolled Nurse scope of practice.

In this role you’ll support continuity of care from first visit through to discharge, contribute to safe clinical decision-making through accurate assessment and timely escalation, and build strong relationships with GP practices and other referrers. You’ll be well supported through structured orientation, ongoing clinical guidance, and access to professional development.

In this role you will:

Provide evidence-based wound care and delegated specialist clinical services to clients in their homes or other community settings, within your Enrolled Nurse scope of practice.
Undertake focused nursing assessments, implement care plans, and contribute to treatment goals and outcomes through accurate documentation and follow-up.
Maintain timely, clear, and confidential clinical documentation that accurately reflects care delivered.
Promote client safety, independence, and wellbeing; practise in a way the client determines as safe and respectful.
Recognise deterioration, risks, or changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly to the Clinical Lead / supervising RN, including reporting accidents, incidents, and service-user concerns in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively with the Community Nursing team, Client Services Managers, and other Healthvision teams to coordinate care and ensure a consistent client experience.
Communicate effectively with primary and secondary health providers and contribute to positive working relationships with GP practices and other referrers.
Build capability across a broad clinical mix (with training and support), including medication management support, enteral feeding, falls and pressure injury prevention, and wound care.

The successful candidate will have:

Current NZ Nursing Council registration and Annual Practising Certificate (APC) as an Enrolled Nurse.
Enrolled nursing experience is essential; community / district nursing experience is advantageous.
Strong clinical assessment skills with sound judgement, critical thinking, and a clear understanding of working within scope and escalation pathways.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), strong relationship-building skills, and confidence engaging with referrers.
High attention to detail with strong documentation standards; competent using MS Office.
Able to work autonomously, organise your day, and adapt in a complex, changing community environment.
Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence and the legal right to work in New Zealand.
