Oceana Wildlife is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and passionate Rangers Teacher to deliver engaging wildlife and ocean education programs for children on the Gold Coast.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, has a passion for conservation, and wants to make a positive impact through wildlife and ocean education.
About the Role
You will deliver Junior Wildlife Rangers and Sea Rangers sessions during the school holidays, with initial classes running once or twice per holiday period for one to two hours each.
There is strong opportunity to grow into fortnightly homeschool and weekend classes, based on enrolments and demonstrated reliability.
As the role grows, there may also be opportunities to progress into lead Sea Rangers programs, local snorkel and dive experiences, and future Great Barrier Reef trips.
Requirements
Teaching experience or strong experience working with children is highly desirable
Knowledge of conservation, marine life and ocean mammals
Background in ecology, marine biology, environmental science or similar is highly commended but not essential
Current Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one
First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain
Strong communication skills
Outgoing, fun, professional and reliable
Important Role Requirement
This role begins with school holiday programs delivered in partnership with local council. Reliability and consistency during these initial classes are essential.
Applicants must be committed to attending all scheduled school holiday sessions, as this will be a key factor in progressing into ongoing classes and future opportunities within Oceana Wildlife.
