The Opportunity
Strategic Technology Leadership
Define the future-state technology strategy for asset and wealth management clients, aligned to business goals such as operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, client experience, and front-to-back integration.
Partner with senior business and IT stakeholders to shape and lead Change the Bank portfolios, prioritising initiatives that deliver measurable impact.
Technology Transformation & Modernisation
Lead legacy platform modernisation (e.g., portfolio management systems, order management, core banking systems) through adoption of microservices, cloud, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
Oversee digital transformation of front-office and client engagement platforms (e.g., advisor portals, investor dashboards, digital onboarding, portfolio analytics).
Support rationalisation and integration of fragmented technology estates resulting from mergers, acquisitions, or platform expansion.
AI & Data Strategy Enablement
Identify and drive AI and data-driven use cases relevant to investment advisory, client servicing, risk management, and operational automation (e.g., hyper-personalisation, RPA, document intelligence, GenAI for regulatory reporting or client communications).
Collaborate with data and analytics teams to modernise the data estate, including data lakes, master data governance, lineage tracking, and real-time insights.
Programme Oversight
Serve as the technology lead or architect across large transformation initiatives, guiding multi-disciplinary teams in agile or hybrid delivery environments.
Ensure robust governance, risk management, compliance alignment (e.g., MiFID II, Basel III, ESG reporting), and technology resilience within transformation initiatives.
Stakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement
Act as a trusted advisor to CIOs, CTOs, Heads of Transformation and COOs across business and technology domains.
Engage with platform vendors (e.g., Temenos, Avaloq, Charles River, Murex, Salesforce FSC) and FinTech ecosystem to bring innovation and differentiation to client solutions.
What You Need
15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, ideally with at least 5 years in asset or wealth management, investment banking, or private banking domains.
Proven success in leading transformation programmes within CTB functions or strategic change portfolios, including platform upgrades, architecture modernisation, and ecosystem integrations.
Strong understanding of core investment platforms (e.g., PMS, OMS, CRM, risk engines), middle and back-office systems, and associated data flows.
Hands-on experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), API management, enterprise integration, and data architecture.
Exposure to AI/ML or Generative AI in real-world applications (e.g., NLP, entity extraction, predictive analytics, conversational AI).
Deep appreciation of regulatory landscape, data privacy, and cybersecurity needs within financial services.
Preferred Background
Experience working with top-tier banks, asset managers, or technology consulting firms delivering transformation engagements.
Prior experience engaging with financial regulators, internal audit, and risk teams during transformation governance.
Strong commercial and business acumen; able to translate business priorities into feasible technical strategies.
