Work You'll Do
The Enterprise Security Logging Lead drives enterprise-scale security logging and monitoring initiatives and is accountable for log compliance, source onboarding, and the development of reporting and threat hunting content. This role partners with IT and security stakeholders to ensure logging requirements are implemented consistently across diverse platforms and environments.
This position is critical to implementing, operating, and documenting the enterprise logging compliance capability-enabling effective monitoring, detection, investigation, and response to security events. The Logging Lead creates and maintains detection content, user guidance, operational runbooks, and compliance-oriented reporting to support ongoing operations and audit needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategy and execution for enterprise logging onboarding, normalization, and compliance alignment across infrastructure, applications, and security tooling.
Coordinate installations, upgrades, patching, and maintenance for the Enterprise Log Manager (ELM) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
Define and maintain onboarding standards (e.g., required fields, retention, parsing, source types, time sync), and validate data quality and coverage.
Develop and maintain reporting and analytic content, including compliance dashboards, operational metrics, and threat hunting queries/use cases.
Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize onboarding, resolve ingestion issues, and maintain an accurate log source inventory.
Establish and maintain documentation artifacts (architecture diagrams, data flow/event feed documentation, configuration baselines, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides).
Support change control activities by producing implementation plans, test/validation steps, and post-change verification evidence.
Assist with audit support, evidence collection, and continuous control monitoring related to logging and monitoring requirements.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree
Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
7+ years of experience supporting enterprise logging platforms (e.g., Splunk, Qmulos, or similar)
5+ years of hands-on experience in 3 or more areas from below:
Leading coordination for installations, updates, and maintenance of ELM and SIEM systems/software
Deep understanding of log onboarding, reporting, and compliance requirements (e.g., coverage, retention, integrity, access controls)
Developing and maintaining SIEM/ELM documentation, including architecture diagrams, event feed documentation, configuration standards, and SOPs
Change control processes and associated technical documentation
Threat detection and compliance auditing procedures (e.g., control evidence, alert validation, tuning)
Preferred:
Experience designing detection and hunting content mapped to common frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK) and operationalizing use cases.
Familiarity with data onboarding patterns (syslog, APIs, agents/forwarders), parsing/normalization, and performance/capacity considerations.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive cross-team outcomes and communicate clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88,600 to $163,100.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
