Our Environmental Health Business Unit is dedicated to providing effective and efficient regulatory and compliance services for the benefit of the community. We focus on ensuring public health and safety through diligent monitoring, inspections, and enforcement of health regulations. Our team works collaboratively to address environmental health issues and promote a healthy living environment for all residents.
About the Position
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Health Compliance Officer to join our Development Services team. This role involves resolving customer enquiries and service requests related to Environmental Health matters, providing operational and technical support, and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and Council policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate and respond to service requests in accordance with relevant health and environmental legislation.
Assist Environmental Health Officers with inspections and monitoring activities.
Maintain accurate records of inspections and activities.
Prepare reports and correspondence related to complaint investigations.
Provide training and supervision to students as required.
Ensure compliance with budget processes and procedures.

Diploma in Environmental Health or related qualification, or significant demonstrated experience in a similar role.
High-level verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organisational, administrative, and time management skills.
Ability to handle challenging customer situations calmly and confidently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management.
Knowledge of local government processes and environmental health principles.
National Police Clearance (under 3 months) and a current Driver’s Licence.

This temporary/permanent full-time position is a Level 6 Inside/Outside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $85,751.72 to $+0,264.87 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.

A copy of Australian driving licence
National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
