WORK SCHEDULE

100% FTE – 40 hours per week

Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 – 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This position’s responsibilities are primarily focused on providing reporting solutions. This position also holds responsibilities of an Epic Applications Analyst, at smaller percentages, to meet the ever-growing application support needs across the ITS Population Health and Population Health Analytics teams at the Managers discretion.

Primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

Analyze customer business, clinical and technical requirements and issues, recommending solutions

Design, build, test, and implement enhancements to meet functional requirements

Provide production support and ongoing system troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, and training

Manage projects, processes, and documentation to support customer needs

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Math, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience

Epic Healthy Planet and Epic Cogito certification is required

4+ years’ experience must include the following:

2+ years of experience with application/system configuration and implementation of clinical information systems (and/or healthcare applications)

Strong Epic Healthy Planet and Epic Cogito reporting experience

Strong experience in Epic reporting, including Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar Dashboards, and Epic databases (Chronicles)

Background and understanding of Epic workflows, Value-Based Care (VBC) models and reporting, quality measures (CMS, HEDIS, PCMH), and risk models (HCC)

Strong experience walking clients through the use of systems

Strong leadership, communication, and project execution skills, so that the new employee could develop into a Lead role over time and possibly lead a program or a team of other reporting analysts

Strong understanding of migration methodology

Demonstrated experience serving as a role model in providing an exceptional business partnership with customers, continuously adapting to their needs and feedback

Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into design specifications, follow technical change control processes, and maintain technical documentation

Experience mentoring others to increase overall professional effectiveness

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Previous experience with Clinical Informatics or in served in Clinical Informatics role

Previous experience with EpicCare Ambulatory reporting

Certifications in EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient (ClinDoc), Compass Rose, and Regulatory and Quality Reporting (RQR)

Previous experience in and knowledge of academic healthcare systems and/or operational environments.

Experience with operational workflow design of clinical software

SQL experience
