Lawn, Garden, Tractor & Mower Service Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: ACT Equipment – Oneonta, AL
Pay: $15-$30/hr. based on experience
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and mechanically skilled Lawn, Garden, Tractor & Mower Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of outdoor power equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, problem-solving, and delivering quality service to customers.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, tractors, compact equipment, and other outdoor power equipment
Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, blade sharpening, belt replacement, filters, and tune-ups
Troubleshoot gas, diesel, and small engine systems
Repair and service hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain systems as needed
Assemble new equipment and perform pre-delivery inspections
Test equipment after repair to ensure proper operation
Maintain accurate service records and work orders
Communicate repair needs and timelines clearly with service advisors or customers
Keep shop area clean, organized, and safe
Follow all safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
Qualifications
Previous experience as a small engine, mower, or tractor technician preferred
Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
Knowledge of gas and diesel engines
Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
Ability to read service manuals and wiring diagrams
Must have own basic hand tools
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a shop environment
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
Experience with brands such as John Deere, Kubota, Toro, Exmark, Gravely, TYM, Wacker Neuson, Bad Boy, or similar
Welding or fabrication experience
Equipment assembly or dealership experience
