Introduction:
The role is for experienced data and ETL developer and is required to contribute to Regulatory and MIS Projects utilizing best policies for data management and data integration.
What will you be doing?
• Self-Motivated to instrument best practices for Solution Development which requires understanding of Market Risk, Compliance, and Trade Surveillance & Regulatory Data and through exposure of data extraction, data transformation, data management and reporting.
• Drive the Best execution strategy for development and implementation
• Responsible for implementation of new EOD Reporting regulations in Europe, Americas and / or Asia Pacific, dependent on demand.
• Prior knowledge on regulatory reporting streams (CAT, Mifid1, BestEx reporting, Algo HFT etc) is added advantage
Analysis:
• Actively engaged external business and IT partners in the requirements analysis for system enhancements and changes.
• Business analysis – Translate regulations into business requirements. Documentation and analysis using appropriate tools and techniques.
Design:
• Interpret and understand functional specifications. Writing functional specifications if required.
• Writing technical design documents adhering to predefined standards
• Agile business methodology understanding is essential
• Design and document business processes for new world view post regulation implementations. Ensuring business users are trained accordingly.
• Extensive experience in Data Management, Data Extraction and data migration and integration
• Extensive experience in Data warehouse design and modelling Expertise in SQL/Netezza/Unix, STAR Schema modelling and experience in Data warehouse methodologies (Kimball)
• Use technical expertise to extrapolate data by using ETL tools (Informatica / AbInitio)
• Hands on development of quality (i.e. readable, performing and supportable) of code of native database, scripting tools and ETL tools
• Hands on development of Autosys, Unix, and Perl scripts, delivering the functionality detailed in the technical specifications
Develop:
• Extensive experience in Data Management, Data Extraction and data migration and integration
• Extensive experience in Data warehouse design and modelling Expertise in SQL/Netezza/Unix, STAR Schema modelling and experience in Data warehouse methodologies (Kimball)
• Use technical expertise to extrapolate data by using ETL tools (Informatica)
• Hands on development of quality (i.e. readable, performing and supportable) of code of native database, scripting tools and ETL tools
• Hands on development using PL/SQL
• Hands on development of Autosys, Unix, and Perl scripts, delivering the functionality detailed in the technical specifications
Performance Tuning:
• Tuning existing code to ensure acceptable application performance
• Review users queries to understand data access patterns and suggest enhancements to data model and/or indexing strategy
• Maintain and enhance conformance framework & conduct conformance testing and troubleshooting Develop and update technical documentation
Quality Assurance:
• Conducting reviews at various quality check points and providing constructive feedback
• Mentoring junior members of the team
Testing:
• Preparation of detailed unit test cases
• Execution of unit test cases and documentation of results
• Providing support during QA and UAT test phases
• Diagnosis and resolution of defects found during QA and UAT test phases
• Support regression testing - investigate output differences.
Implementation:
• Packaging up codes for release into production
• On implementation of releases, provide training to support team members
Post-Implementation:
• Point of contact for support team, investigating and resolving issues found in production
Production Escalation:
• The role demands to provide analysis and solution when production issues/job failures are escalated to build the bank (Production Escalation to BTB) in a timely manner. Individuals will be required to provide Production escalations on rotation basis.
Communication Responsibilities
• Communication - ensuring all key stakeholders understand project milestones, risks and issues
• Communicate directly with business analysts and project managers, understanding detailed business requirements at all stages of the development lifecycle
• Communicate effectively with business users to gain an in-depth understanding of new requirements and minor system changes
• Communicate effectively with the other external IT development teams and the local development manager.
• Work closely with global development team members in Singapore, London and New York – participating in and contributing to technical discussions. Participate and contribute in technical discussions
What we're looking for:
Experience and Qualifications:
• A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related.
• Extensive hands-on experience on DWH, SQL, ETL and Unix.
• Experience of working in a fast-paced and agile environment.
• Desirable to have experience of agile delivery in a data centric, regulatory environment
• Domain knowledge: Treasury/Risk/Finance (nice to have); Financial Services (desirable)
Technical Skills:
• An extensive grounding in software development with solid data management skills considering on premises and Cloud based environments.
• Well versed with DDL, DMLs, DCLs and Data Storage and Data Retrieval mechanism for in premises (Data Warehouse / Data Mart).
• Experience working with large scale Data Warehouses and ETL Services
• Extensive experience PL/SQL Development , Database design, SQL performance tuning, ETL Design, Development and Tuning
• Extensive experience in ETL tools Informatica 10 and above
• Good understanding of Data Warehouse and Data Mart concepts with proven experience in both
• Ability to design and implement logical and physical data models
• Experience with Unix (preferably Linux)
• Good understanding for Netezza / Oracle.
• Hands on experience with Source Code control tools e.g. Git Repo
• Familiar with scheduling management technologies e.g. Autosys
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development team.
