Job Description
i. Core responsibilities involve working closely with Fund and EMSD team, portfolio funds (PFs) and portfolio companies (PCs) at corporate level and asset level through their E&S policy, E&S management and systems; undertake assessment of risk and impact, monitoring, review, reporting and performance improvements.
ii. Understand E&S reports, identify gaps and work with Fund Managers in trying to improve E&S standards and ensuring implementation
iii. Monitor the Fund Managers every time they take a decision to invest and see if it complies with the E&S standards
iv. Handhold portfolio funds on different E&S aspects: i.e. pre-investment due diligence, ESDD, develop E&S action plans, draft E&S covenants, facilitating / undertaking portfolio audits, impact assessments, performance monitoring, Periodic Performance Reporting, and Incident reporting etc.
v. Management and Coordination of 3rd party E&S advisers engaged by the portfolio fund for various services; and ensuring timely & high-quality delivery
vi. Sharing ESIA/ESDD/E&S performance/ E&S Incident reports with stakeholders as well as investors in desired formats and addressing their comments as per agreed timelines. Drafting of corrective action plans and tracking their closure with PFs & PCs.
vii. Organizing E&S training for portfolio companies
viii. Organize periodic calls, preparing Minutes of the meetings and tracking of action items.
The Successful Applicant
Knowledge of E&S international standards like IFC performance standards, ADB safeguards, AIIB ESF, NDB ESF and other such E&S standards
Knowledge of EHSS systems along with statutory requirements
Prior exposure in working with Private Equity, Financial intermediary and their Portfolio assets or conglomerates or Big 4s or Impact consulting firms
Practical experience of working in projects funded by Multilateral Developmental banks (MDBs) such as IFC, ADB, AIIB, NDB, etc.
Monitoring and evaluation of E&S performance at the portfolio investments
Excellent communication and Presentation skills
Good Computer skills word & Excel
Report writing & preparation of MIS etc.
Problem Solving skills
