About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for an Estimating and Pricing Officer to join our Maritime Acquisition team. Reporting to our Senior Estimating & Pricing Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the Senior Estimating & Pricing Manager with all Estimating and Pricing (E&P) activities, in order to support the Lines of Business (LoB) in delivering against strategic and financial objectives. These activities will include providing support to strategic pricing, estimating, cost modelling, planning the pricing approach, developing the pricing timetable for each bid, co-ordination of the collection process for estimates, formulation of basis of estimate’s where required, review and analysis of cost estimates.
This role will be based at our Osborne Shipyard office in South Australia.

Key responsibilities include:
Provide ongoing support to the Estimating & Pricing Lead and/or Snr Estimating & Pricing Manager
Support bids using established BAE Systems Australia Estimating & Pricing processes & procedures
Engage with both E&P Team and broader group of stakeholders (Finance, Project Management (PM), Bid Teams) as required to support the delivery of accurate value for money proposals to customers as directed
Support the conduct of Risk and Opportunities workshops and reviews
Assist the Bid Team with the preparation of Phase Review data, RBA data as well as inputs to the Customer Pricing Tables
Ensure pricing tool (ProPricer/ Excel) preparation & maintenance throughout each bid complies with E&P standards and the direction of the Line Manager, and aligns with company Delegations of Authority (DoA)
Provide support by identifying and contributing to E&P process improvement initiatives as directed
About YOU
Previous relevant experience in Defence or related Engineering, Project Management, Finance or Commercial fields
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences is critical to this role
A self-starter with a willingness to learn
An ability to identify potential issues and develop solutions in conjunction with the Estimating and Pricing Manager
Exposure to estimating techniques (desirable)
Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Eligibility for a Negative Vetting Level 1 Defence security clearance
