About this role

We are recruiting for an experienced Estimator, Building Automation Controls to join our Technology Controls team. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

The Estimator will review specifications and drawings to provide accurate estimates for RFP, Tender and Design Build work. This role supports our sales efforts and may interact with Houle clients on occasion.

Your responsibilities

Read engineering drawings (including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, plumbing IFCs/IFTs) and specifications
Communicate design options and potential change order considerations to the team
Remain up to date on estimating templates and all applicable labour, material and equipment rates
Provide accurate and detailed project budgets and estimates, including change orders
Actively participate in estimate and design reviews
Attend project sites and/or team meetings in person on occasion
Remain familiar with new products, solution versions, upgrades and compatibility
Be familiar with system integration capabilities of all Houle offerings and 3rd parties
Maintain knowledge of and promote all Houle services
Your experience and skills

5+ years of experience with Building Automation Controls commercial solution/services industry required
2 years of experience estimating Building Automation Controls systems solutions
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP MS/TP networking, Modbus, BACnet protocols required
Experience with Reliable Controls and Schneider Electric EcoStruxure systems preferred
Networking experience preferred
Experience using Accubid estimating software and strong proficiency with MS Office suite
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Diploma preferred, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree an asset
Must thrive in a fast paced environment and remain calm and professional under pressure
Organized and able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication skills and works well with others
Willing to travel to project sites within BC if required and hold a Class 5 Driver license with clean record
