Job Description
QAT is seeking a teacher meeting the ELICOS Standard 6.3 requirements:
· a degree or diploma of at least three years full-time or equivalent (teaching or other)
· a suitable TESOL qualification or qualification that contains TESOL as a method
· appropriate TESOL teaching experience
Classes are Wed-Thurs, 4pm - 9:30pm
The skills and qualifications noted as essential should be prominently and initially presented for the application to be considered.
Skills and Qualifications
A minimum of 1 year teaching English in a classroom setting in the past four years is essential.
Experience simulating IELTS test environments in formal mock tests with students is desirable.
Competency in the use of MS Office suite of applications including Excel and Teams is essential to perform the role.
Experience using database style systems to record student outcomes is desirable.
Requirements of the Position
Deliver English language lessons up to 20 hours per week face to face using flexible methodologies catering to the proficiency levels and individual learning needs of international students.
Proactively reflect on delivery and outcomes of teaching, engage in professional development programs and maintain a professional portfolio.
Understand, take responsibility for and adhere to the ELICOS Standards 2018 and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active language acquisition.
Develop and deliver weekly formative assessment tasks and record results of student academic outcomes, participation and engagement and provide constructive feedback to students.
Demonstrate an attitude of collaboration.
