About the Position

This is a temporary 12-18 month position.

We're seeking a proactive, passionate, and independent individual to join our Business Development & Venues Management Group as an Event Manager. This role involves organizing, planning, and managing client experiences with exceptional attention to detail and strong solution-finding skills.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Sales Manager on client event planning and management.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and contractors.
Respond promptly to client inquiries and manage event expectations.
Promote the services and values of the Edmonton Convention Centre.
Maintain accurate event plans and create service orders.
Coordinate with contractors to ensure event requirements are met.
Prepare post-event financial summaries and reports.
Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in Event Management or related field (asset).
Minimum 2 years' experience in event planning or client services with administrative and computer skills.
Strong project management, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
Experience working with vendors and contractors in event delivery.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Key Skills:

Event/client management strengths and attention to detail.
Relationship-building with clientele and internal departments.
Critical thinking and negotiating skills.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
Work Environment:

The Event Manager will be based at the Edmonton Convention Centre and work closely with the Business Development & Venues Management Group to deliver exceptional client experiences.
